How to Paint the Interior of a House
Painting a home's interior can be a fulfilling and transformational project. Here is a step-by-step tutorial for painting your home's interior:
Plan and Get Ready:
Choose the hues and finishing details you want for each room.
A ladder, paint, brushes, rollers, drop cloths, painter's tape, putty, sandpaper, and all other required supplies should be gathered.
To protect them from paint splatters, move the furniture and other items out of the room or cover them with drop cloths.
Dust and wipe down the surfaces that will be painted to make them clean. With putty, patch up any holes or cracks in the walls, and after they've dried, sand them smooth.
To mask off areas you don't want painted, such as baseboards, trim, and windows, use painter's tape.
Ceiling painting:
As any drips or splatters can be easily covered when painting the walls, begin by painting the ceiling first.
In order to reach the ceiling, use a roller on an extension pole. Beginning in one corner, work your way across in sections, slightly overlapping each stroke.
Before beginning on the walls, let the ceiling completely dry.
Decorate the Walls:
Use a brush to cut in around the edges of the walls, painting along the corners, baseboards, and trims.
Fill a paint tray with the desired wall color and load the roller.
Start rolling the paint onto the walls in a "W" or "M" pattern, covering one manageable section at a time.
